Uganda: Take Care With Phosphates Find : Chinese to develop Tororo phosphates 29/5/13 | All Africa

Last week, it was reported that a Chinese firm is going to exploit Uganda's phosphate rock deposits after negotiating a 49 year lease. Guangzhou Dongsong Energy Group intends to set up a fertilizer project. This is good news because the government has been close to desperate in finding someone with the money and expertise needed to mine this important natural element on a large scale. Uganda's phosphate rocks are located in the eastern part of the country, amounting to some 230 million tonnes and covering an area of 26 square kilometres. ... Link to this story.
